The parishes surrounding
Kirkby Malhamdale

The map shows the old ecclesiastical parishes (named in blue) surrounding the Parish of Kirkby-in-Malhamdale. These are the ancient parishes which existed until around 1832. During the 19th century some parishes were then split and boundaries changed to provide the additional parishes of Langcliffe, Settle, Hellifield, Coniston Cold and Rylstone (shown in italics, as are some pre 1832 chapels-of-ease).

This website also covers the townships of Eshton, Winterburn and Bordley, which border the eastern edge of the parish of Kirkby Malhamdale and fell in the parishes of Gargrave and Burnsall.
